I have a confession to make.
I decided to finally start a Warrior, since all my golds lately seem
to be Swords and Shields. So I make it, level it a bit, and get it run
to Beacons/Forge/Camp. I decided to get Platemail for her, if only
for cosmetic interests. So I pulled materials and cash from my farmer,
and got the armor. I've been grinding out in the Footprint, working to
powerlevel her up to 20. After one particular grouping of Stone Summit
was dead at my feet, it hit me.
I was giddy.
After working so hard for so long to build up my characters and wealth,
currency and otherwise, I was behaving like a new player all over again.
I was running headlong into groups more than double my level, swinging
away with my sword. I was behaving like a palanoob, running into the fray,
regardless of the consequences to both myself and the group. Given I'm
actually using Mesmer Secondary for stances and such to avoid and increase
armor, but still. I actually had to stop and see what I was doing to realize it.
I started the game with Monk, so I never had the experience of going through
Tyria as a wide eyed Paladin, thinking I could bring down any foe with Gash
and Sever Artery. And now that I'm playing an active melee character, it
makes sense why I see so many W's around. It's sad, but it's the most fun
I've had in this game for quite some time. Not worrying about keeping the
party alive, managing energy for nuking or the like, just rushing in and using
my sword rather than words.
And God Damn does it feel good.
(Thoughts, insults and the like start now.)

I know.. Thats how St Knight Arthur was born..
I was tired of staying back and casting spells, in panic that someone infront of me is going to die any time now..
So then one day I was like.. meh.. I feel like smaking someone in the face with metal.. And tadaa.. My longest lived characted was born. I still hate warriors and especially War/Monks whitch I am, but gosh its fun to smack things around in close range... Running in like a headless chicken and getting the whole bunch beating on you, then you go like: HAH! Gladiators Defence! and they all die eventually, and ur still standing there... Ur metal armor reflecting the sun and illuminating the corpses around you..

I've heard your confession, my child.
All is forgiven if you repent now and put down your sword and take up thine Yakslapper once more.
Don't give in to the dark side.
j/k - I went through the same thing a while back. If you want even more fun, make a Necro minion master. There's nothing like calling up a swarm of 20+ minions in a mission to buzz the enemy. If you power-level up a strong Necro, a PUG is often startled when they see your army of minions rush past them like killer bees.

Warriors are good if you don't use sever artery gash paladin and then think you are so powerful.
i.e. USING NON HEALING PRAYERS

I'm a Mesmer Secondary. I run sword/inspiration magic. Healing Prayers
doesn't even come into play.
Physical Resistance FTW!

lol When i first started playing a warrior it was sooo much fun. No more 150+ dmg from perfect jades. No more running around like a pansy. God it was fun. I know exactly how you feel.

omg. i have to admit, the same thing happened to me with both my minion master necro, and my w/mo (now a w/r for tiger's fury and a pet). whats really funny is when someone makes a warr first, then makes a spell caster and tries to use the same run it and gun it mentality, getting them and their entire party killed
